While a high school student, I worked as a volunteer tutor and was the captain of the Academic Team study sessions. Because I have ADD, I have worked hard to maintain my academic performance. During college at Ohio State University, I studied disability theory and I use that knowledge when I teach. I find that I am able to accommodate students with ADD as well as other challenges, and I can respond to their individual needs. I have worked as an ESL tutor and a translator, as I am also fluent in Farsi and Spanish. I am available to tutor a variety of courses, including Algebra 1, Geometry, Elementary Math, Middle School Math, ESL/ELL, Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Literature, Grammar and Mechanics, College Essays, American History, European History, Public Speaking, Study Skills and Organization, Social Studies, English, Social Sciences, and many others. I can also assist with any PSAT, ACT, and SAT test prep courses. When I'm not busy teaching, I enjoy record collecting, reading, cultural criticism, blogging, art curation, and community building.
